Friday, April 24, 2015, 7:30 pm: Concert and Poetry Reading.

Poetry and Music. Schuster Hall, Creative Arts Center, Wright State University

The Wright State University School of Music and Department of English will present the fourth annual Poetry and Music Concert. As in previous years, the program will feature Wright State Music students and faculty performing musical settings of a wide array of poems, with English Department faculty reading the verse aloud before each selection. This year, however, all the music and poetry will be from, about, or directly responding to the First World War. Sponsored by CELIA, the School of Music, the Department of English, the Department of History, and the War and Society Program, Wright State University.

 

April 6, 2016 – April 6, 2019: Museum exhibit.

The Forgotten Conflict that Changed Everything: Dayton in the Great War, 1917-1918. Dayton History at Carillon Park, Dayton.

Starting on the 99th anniversary of the official American entry into the First World War, Dayton History at Carillon Park will host a large exhibit that tells the story of Greater Dayton and the Miami Valley in the First World War. More details to follow. Sponsored by Dayton History at Carillon Park, CELIA, the Department of History, and the War and Society Program, Department of History, Wright State University.
